Q: Does MH1 offer web hosting ?
MH1: Yes. MH1 is not a bulk host in that we typically only offer hosting to our web design clients. Existing sites can be easily transferred to MH1 Hosting. (Learn more)
Q: Can I retain my in-house or current web host?
MH1: Yes. MH1 can design your new site and transfer the completed files to your current host using FTP software. Clients are not bound to using our hosting, unless they are using our hosted software, Actum or Breva.
Q: Can I buy/register my domain name through MH1 Web Design?
MH1: Yes. We will purchase your new domain(s) in your name so you are the registered owner. This requires client's credit card of choice.
Q: How long will it take to build and launch my new website?
MH1: It depends. Almost 50% of the business sites we build are 'static' websites requiring no databases or advanced programming. Also known as 'brochure' websites, these can typically be completed within 2-4 weeks or less if the client has all of the required text and content ready.
'Dynamic' sites with databases and interactive features typically take longer.
Q: Can I maintain the content on my website to avoid additional costs?
MH1: If the site is a relatively simple static, brochure-style website, requiring infrequent changes, than anyone with some knowledge of HTML coding may be able to make occasional changes or updates. However, ActumTM - our custom content management tool, is a backend Content Management System (CMS) custom tailored to your needs.
Q: How much does MH1 charge for changes and updates?
MH1: Our hourly rate is $60/hour.
Q: Can MH1 create a shopping cart website that accepts credit card payments for my products?
MH1: Yes. Our custom e-commerce solution is called BrevaTM. It gives you 24/7 control over your inventory, descriptions, prices, photos and more. This custom shopping cart software works with Pay Pal for safe, secure online credit card payments.
Q: Does MH1 use templates?
MH1: No. Your website is custom designed reflecting your company logo, brand, imagery and color scheme.
Q: Do I have to purchase stock photos or supply you with original photos?
MH1: No. MH1 subscribes to some of the largest stock photography sites in the world. We can supply professional stock images.
Q: Can you show me some ideas before I commit to using MH1?

Q: My company has a really professional brochure we love. Can you create a website that will look similar?
MH1: Absolutely. We frequently do this for new clients. We will closely match your web design with your existing print marketing materials to complement your brand in print. Q: What is the first step in designing my new website?
MH1: After we receive your signed copy of our proposal and your deposit, MH1 begins creating your custom 'mock-up' design. This sample layout is built using your direction, preferences, logo, color scheme and other stylistic parameters. You will receive a link to your mock-up design.. usually within 10 days of our receipt of your deposit.
After your review and changes/edits, the final mock-up layout and design is 'approved'. Then the rest of the site is constructed.
Q: What if I do not like the mock-up MH1 designs for my company?
MH1: We employ an iterative design process. The initial mock-up is just a starting point for the design. We continue to listen to your feedback, share our design and website experience and make refinements. Do not be alarmed if the first version of your mock-up is not what you imagined. There are often several versions of the evolving mock-up until you 'approve' the final polished design.
Q: Will my website show up in the search engines? How much does that cost?
MH1: Yes. Almost all of our client websites need to be found in searches to generate new leads and customers. We construct every new website using proven disciplines that ensure that your new site is 'search engine-friendly'.
